Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at US Hwy 96 in Jasper County, TX on May 20th, 2022. Police say it happened around 10:10 a.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle was traveling at an alleged high rate of speed while passing other vehicles in a center turn lane when it collided with a pickup truck. The cyclist, identified as Jason Speegle, suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. The driver of the pickup truck, 71-year-old Beverly Harrison, was not injured. Additional details were not provided.
