What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 146 in Baytown, TX on October 8th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:16 a.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 39-year-old Javier Almendarez was headed northbound before veering over a median and losing control. While attempting to correct back onto the road, the vehicle lost control and overturned, partially ejecting Almendarez from the vehicle. The crash caused fatal injuries for Almendarez. Police had no additional details to share.
