What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 83 in Webb County, TX on May 3rd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 5:05 a.m. According to investigators, a Volkswagen Jetta operated by 22-year-old Javier De Jesus Espinosa was headed northbound on US 83. A tractor-trailer operated by 60-year-old Jaime Martinez Garza was headed southbound when it turned eastbound to make a u-turn. In the process, the u-turn collided with the tractor-trailer, causing minor injuries to Espinosa. Garza was not injured and charged with Made U-Turn on Curve or Hill.
