Area authorities are investigating a collision that injured a driver at US 287 in Anderson County, TX on March 26th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4:10 p.m. Investigators are saying a Dodge Ram 3500 operated by a 21-year-old Nacogdoches man was headed southeast on US 287 as a Chevrolet Cruz operated by 21-year-old Jayviona Asberry was headed southeast in front of the Dodge. A vehicle ahead came to a stop, waiting for traffic to pass so it could turn into a private driveway. The Dodge reportedly failed to control its speed and collided with the rear of the Cruz, pushing it into the stopped vehicle. Asberry suffered minor injuries. The drivers of the other vehicles were not injured. The Nacogdoches man was cited for Failure to Control Speed. Additional information was not immediately available.
