Austin Police are investigating a crash that killed one person at Texas Oaks Dr in Austin, TX on June 10th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 12:28 a.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated by 62-year-old Jedd Bennett was headed eastbound on Slaughter Lane when a westbound vehicle made a turn into the path of the bike. The vehicles collided, leaving Bennett with fatal injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Jose Rangel Mendez, was arrested on an intoxication manslaughter charge.
