What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at FM 356 in Trinity County, TX on February 6th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. A Nissan Xterra operated by 37-year-old Jeffrey Doring was reportedly headed southbound on FM 356 when it veered from the road into a ditch under unclear circumstances. It then attempted to return to the road and went into a skid, overturning to the left. It then went into a ditch and overturned, ejecting Doring from the vehicle and causing fatal injuries. Responding officers allege that multiple alcoholic beverages were found at the scene and allege Doring may have been under the influence at the time of the crash.
