What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a teen at FM 2289 in Madison County, TX on July 12th, 2022. Police say it happened around 1:30 p.m. and involved a southbound GMC Sierra allegedly running a stop sign and colliding head-on with a Toyota Avalon headed eastbound on FM 978. The driver of the GMC, identified as 18-year-old Jennalyn Yeager, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The other driver, a 17-year-old girl, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
