What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at FM 450 in Harrison County, TX on June 23rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 6:11 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Fit operated by a 48-year-old Galveston man was traveling southbound on FM 450 when it allegedly ran a stop sign, colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado headed eastbound on FM 968. The collision caused the Silverado to overturn, leaving 22-year-old passenger, Joanna Ramirez, with serious injuries. The driver, 23-year-old Ulises Hernandez Vasquez, had less serious injuries. A passenger in the Honda, identified as 48-year-old Jennifer Boykin, was killed in the crash. Authorities expressed suspicion the driver of the Honda may have consumed alcohol prior to the crash.
