What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 59 in Montgomery County, TX on July 23rd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 3:04 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram 2500 operated by a 35-year-old New Caney man was allegedly stopped in a northbound lane of travel for unknown reasons. While stopped, the vehicle was rear ended by an approaching Volkswagen Jetta operated by a 49-year-Houston man. While he had minor injuries, according to police, a 47-year-old passenger, identified as Jennifer Bustamante, suffered more serious injuries. The New Caney man was not injured, according to police. A Driving While Intoxicated charge was recommended and/or issued.
