What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at State Hwy 121 in Grapevine, TX on January 16th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 4 p.m. A Jeep Wrangler operated by 44-year-old Jennifer Hestand was headed northeast on TX 121 as it approached a connector road. Police say a crash cushion truck was parked facing north in a safety zone with active directional arrows and was unoccupied. The Jeep reportedly made an unsafe lane change to travel onto I-635 and collided with the crash truck before veering from the road and overturning. Hestand suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
