What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured two people at US 67 in Somervell County, TX on October 2nd, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:53 p.m. A GMC Sierra operated by 34-year-old James David Brantley is accused of failing to control its speed and colliding with the rear of a Toyota Rav 4 at an intersection. The Sierra veered right and sideswiped a Jeep Compass after the initial collision. No one in the Jeep was injured, nor was Brantley. The driver of the Toyota, 56-year-old Melvin Clifton Blossom suffered minor injuries while his passenger, 53-year-old Jennifer Denise Blossom, suffered more serious injuries. Police arrested Brantley on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.
