What Happened

Authorities have information on a crash that killed a pedestrian at I-10 in Gonzales County, TX on November 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:28 a.m. Investigators believe a tractor-trailer headed westbound in an outside lane was approaching a tow truck parked in the shoulder. The tow truck had emergency lighting active and was legally parked, according to police. The driver of the disabled vehicle being assisted by the tow truck, 19-year-old Jeremiah Broussard, was standing in the shoulder as the tractor-trailer entered into the shoulder. Reports say the truck struck the driver of the disabled vehicle in the process, Broussard with fatal injuries. No additional injuries were reported.
