Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian at State Hwy 149 in Gregg County, TX on June 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:30 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by an unknown driver is said to have been headed southbound before striking a pedestrian who was in or near the roadway. Following the impact, the vehicle is said to have continued driving, without stopping to render aid. The pedestrian was identified as 18-year-old Jeremiah Deon Allen, who suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Police are searching for the driver and vehicle involved and were not able to say if the driver was aware of the collision.  Additional information was not made available.
