Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a deputy at Hwy 198 in Van Zandt County, TX on June 11th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 4:13 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-550 was in the process of turning into a private drive when it was struck by a southbound Ford F-150. The F-150 was operated by 38-year-old Deputy Sgt. Jeremy McCoy. McCoy suffered fatal injuries at the scene. His passenger was hospitalized with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
