What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a woman at Spring Cypress Rd in Harris County, TX on June 17th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:40 a.m. Police say a woman and her boyfriend were pushing a vehicle that had become disabled in a or near a moving lane of travel. As they did so, investigators say the woman was struck by another vehicle. It was alleged the disabled vehicle may not have had operational lighting at the time of the collision. The woman, identified as 40-year-old Jerlinda Vanzant, was killed in the collision. Authorities say no other injuries were reported and the driver involved remained at the scene for authorities.
