What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a collision that killed a driver at I-610 in Houston, TX on March 11th, 2025. Police say the incident happened around 5 p.m. According to investigators, a Hyundai Tucson was allegedly headed eastbound in westbound lanes prior to colliding head-on with a Volkswagen Atlas headed westbound. Officials say following the initial collision, a Chevrolet Trax collided with a barricade in an attempt to avoid colliding with the other vehicles. Officials say the Hyundai operator, identified as 51-year-old Jermaine Thompson, was fatally injured. Three others, including both other drivers, were hospitalized with various injuries.
