Police say the incident happened around 8:40 a.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer headed southbound in US 259 is alleged to have failed to control its speed before colliding with rear of a Hyundai Santa Fe. The impact is said to have pushed the Hyundai from the roadway into a tree line while the truck veered from the road and overturned. Reports say the driver of the Hyundai, identified as 67-year-old Jeronimo Ruiz Perez, was seriously injured.
