What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at I-40 in Amarillo, TX on May 1st, 2022.  Police say the incident happened around 4:20 p.m. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer operated by a 55-year-old Cutler Bay, FL man was headed eastbound when it attempted to change lanes, striking a Mini Cooper operated by 49-year-old Jerry Arrellano. Arrellano was seriously injured in the collision while the Cutler Bay man was not injured. Reports indicate he was charged with Changing Lanes When Unsafe.
