What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 77 in Victoria County, TX in August 15th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:40 a.m. A GMC Sierra operated by 28-year-old Jesus Rene Reyes was headed northeast on US 77 when it veered from the road into a bar ditch. The vehicle lost control and went into a roll, ejecting Reyes from the vehicle. Reyes was hospitalized with serious injuries. Responding officers say there was a strong alcoholic odor coming from the drivers side of the vehicle. Additional information was not available.
