What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a woman at US 183 in Austin, TX on November 15th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 9:07 p.m. According to investigators, a Honda Accord was exiting eastbound Riverside as a Chevrolet Silverado headed southbound on US 183. Reports allege the Honda pulled into the path of the Chevrolet, the vehicles colliding in the process. Reports also say the impact from the crash caused the vehicles to strike a nearby cable barrier, leaving both driver and passenger in the Honda seriously injured. The driver of the Honda was identified as 25-year-old Jia Chen. The 29-year-old passenger was not publicly identified, nor was the other driver. Sources indicate a DWI charge was recommended and/or issued against the operator of the Chevrolet.
