What Happened

Area authorities are investigating crash that killed a person at I-35 in New Braunfels, TX on September 11th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. An 18-wheeler pulled over into the shoulder and the driver exited and was standing near the truck. A Dodge Neon is then said to have veered from its lane while trying to avoid the truck and struck the driver before leaving the scene. The driver, 54-year-old Jim Newcomer, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The other driver, 29-year-old Bradley Knight was later located and arrested on a charge of Accident Involving Death.
