What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 812 in Bastrop, TX on July 16th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 5:28 p.m. A Honda Accord operated by 21-year-old Joanna Alcala Campuzano was reportedly attempting to slow down to avoid colliding with a vehicle ahead when it veered from the road. It then went into an embankment and overturned. Campuzano suffered serious injuries. Her 2-year-old passenger was evaluated for possible injuries. Responding officers suspect alcohol played a factor in the crash.
