What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at Coulter St and Hillside Rd in Amarillo, TX on May 12th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:15 p.m. According to investigators, a motorcycle operated by 58-year-old Joe Gonzales was headed south bound while allegedly weaving in and out of traffic. Police say witnesses allege the vehicle braked suddenly to avoid colliding with a Nissan Rogue operated by a 65-year-old Amarillo woman. The bike then reportedly lost control and collided with the rear of the Rogue, causing Gonzales to suffer serious injuries. The Amarillo woman was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
