What Happened

State Police have information on a crash that injured a driver at US 287 in Hall County, TX on November 8th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 2:41 p.m. A commercial tractor-trailer operated by a 57-year-old Las Vegas man and a Hyundai Elantra operated by 71-year-old Joe Lee Williams were both headed southbound on US 287 as they approached a construction zone. The Hyundai is said to have moved in front of the truck and attempted to slow down to turn before it was struck in the rear by the truck. Willaims suffered serious injuries when the Hyundai was pushed into a center median during the collision. The Las Vegas man was was reportedly uninjured and a citation for Failure to Control Speed was recommended and/or issued by responding officers.
