What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed three people at State Hwy 19 in Anderson County, TX on January 21st, 2022. Police believe the incident happened around 2 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford F-150 operated by 38-year-old Tiffany Scroggins was headed southbound on State Hwy 19 behind a Dodge Caravan. The Ford is said to have attempted to pass the Dodge with enough room to pass before crashing head-on with a northbound Subaru Outback operated by 67-year-old Joe Miller. Both Miller and his passenger, 61-year-old Mary Miller, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Scorggins was also killed. The driver Dodge, which was also struck in the crash, suffered minor injuries as did two passengers. Police allege that toxicology reports indicate that Scroggins was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
