What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at I-30 in Hopkins County, TX on October 14th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 41-year-old Joe Soto Jr was eastbound on the service road, possibly traveling at high or unsafe speeds. The vehicle is said to have veered out of its lane before entering int a median. While attempting to return to the road, investigators say the vehicle lost control and went into a skid. The vehicle overturned, ejecting Soto from the vehicle, causing fatal injuries at the scene. There were no other reported injuries and authorities did not have additional information to share.
