What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that injured a driver at US 59 in Nacogdoches County, TX on January 5th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 6:48 p.m. A Ford F-250 operated by a 24-year-old Commerce, TX man was headed eastbound on FM 2782 while a tractor--trailer operated by 37-year-old Joey David was headed southbound. Police say the Ford, which was towing an attached trailer, traveled eastbound across the southbound lanes at the crossover to turn north onto US 59 and was in an inside lane when the tractor-trailer collided with the the truck. Neither the Commerce man nor his 19-year-old passenger were injured. Davis suffered serious injuries in the crash. Records indicate the Commerce man was charged with Failure to Yield Row at Stop Intersection, Expired Driver's License and Operating Motor Vehicle Without Financial Responsibility.
