What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed two people at Hwy 87 in Newton County, TX on July 22nd, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet pickup truck is said to have crossed a center line and collided head-on with a Ford pickup truck. Both drivers, identified as 33-year-old Joey McClelland and Terry Williams, suffered fatal injuries from the collision. A passenger in the Ford, identified as 40-year-old David Antilley, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
