Harris County Sheriff's Office authorities are investigating a crash that killed a person at Katy Freeway in Katy, TX on July 11th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:50 a.m. According to investigators, John Carpenter was reportedly helping to assist a driver suffering mechanical failure in a breakdown lane. As Carpenter was returning to his vehicle, police say he was struck by a vehicle that did not stop to render aid. Carpenter suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
