What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at Ave U in Galveston, TX on August 14th, 2022. Police say the incident happened when a westbound scooter proceeded into an intersection and collided with a northbound Nissan Altima that allegedly ran the posted stop sign. The 53-year-old scooter operator, identified as John David Bell, was taken to an area hospital with injuries he later died from. Police later charged 35-year-old Yordany Ferrer with intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle in connection with the collision.
