What Happened

Area authorities have made an arrest following a collision that left two people injured at North Main St in Paris, TX on March 24th, 2023.  Police believe it happened around 11:20 p.m. Investigators allege a GMC 2500 operated by 40-year-old John Semple Jr was headed northbound before striking a curb that caused the vehicle to lose a tire. The vehicle is believed to have veered into a southbound lane while traveling northbound before hitting telephone poles and a road sign. Police believe it then overturned, ejecting one passenger from the vehicle. The victim, a teen, is believed to have been seriously injured. A second passenger, age 38, had less serious injuries, as did Semple, according to officers. Authorities have recommend and/or issued a Driving While Intoxicated charge, according to officials.
