What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US Hwy 67 and Woolard Dr in Venus, TX on July 27th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 3:41 p.m. A Toyota Tundra operated by 23-year-old Johnathan Flores was headed eastbound on 67 when it collided with the rear of a Dodge Ram towing a trailer that was slowing to make a turn. Flores suffered serious injuries that he later died from. Investigators say the Dodge did activate its turn signal prior to the turn and that it appeared the Tundra did not attempt to slow down prior to impact. No information regarding the condition of the other driver was provided nor any additional information about the crash.
