What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed four people at TX-315 in Carthage, TX on October 28th, 2021. Police say a Mercedes-Benz headed northeast on TX 315 was traveling at unsafe speeds on the wet roadway when it hydroplaned into oncoming traffic and collided with a tractor-trailer. 27-year-old Jonathan Estrada, 26-year-old Jacqueline Martinez and a 9-year-old and 4-year-old were all killed at the scene. An additional 9-year-old passenger was hospitalized in critical condition. The truck driver, 29-year-old Isaias Cordero Herrera and his 36-year-old passenger, Rogelio Flores Almora, were both hospitalized with injuries and later released.
