Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 62 in Ropesville, TX on November 21st, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 10:37 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Silverado K3500 was northwest in the southwest lanes of US 62. Reports say the vehicle left the roadway and traveled over a curb before continuing northbound in a nearby gravel lot. From there, reports say the vehicle struck a barn and diesel tank before overturning and catching fire. Police say the driver, identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Weldy, was unable to exit the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Authorities did not have any additional information available.
