What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured two people at Dallas Pkwy and Parker Rd in Plano, TX on June 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 11:07 a.m. A Mercedes-Benz operated by 48-year-old Jopin Niazi reportedly veered from the road and crashed into a tree, causing serious injuries a 25-year-old passenger. Police say that Niazi allegedly described an SUV pulling out in front of the Mercedes and the car having to perform evasive action to avoid a collision. Police say that a witness described the Mercedes racing another vehicle and losing control and that they did not witness an SUV pulling in front of the vehicle.
