What Happened

Texas Department of Public officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at US 287 in Armstrong County, TX on April 23rd, 2023. Authorities are saying a Ford Explorer was headed eastbound before veering from the road for unclear reasons around 6:35 a.m. It is believed to have traveled into a center median before losing control and overturning several times. The vehicle was found at the scene resting in a south ditch, where the driver had been ejected during rollover. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Jordan Chavira, suffered fatal injuries.
