What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist at FM 2557 in San Juan, TX on October 26th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:20 a.m. A tractor-trailer operated by a 36-year-old McAllen man was reportedly slowing to make a westbound left turn into a private drive. As this was occurring, a motorcycle is said to have been attempting to go around the truck but was unable and collided with the left side of the truck. The cyclist, identified as 46-year-old Jose Abrego Anaya Jr, suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
