What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a passenger at Calmont Ave in Fort Worth, TX on April 19th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 11:11 p.m. According to investigators, a Chevrolet Suburban operated by a 29-year-old male was headed westbound, allegedly at a high rate of speed, before going control. The vehicle traveled across eastbound lanes before colliding with a concrete wall and telephone pole. Police say following the collision, the driver continued eastbound before suffering a tire blowout causing it to crash into a fence and overturned. The driver is alleged to have fled the scene on-foot, leaving behind two passengers. One, identified as 21-year-old Jose Amaro was seriously injured in the crash and died from his injuries two days later. Authorities have recommended a charge of Accident Involving Injury or Death and had no additional information to share.e
