Lufkin Police are investigating a crash that killed a driver at North Timberland Dr in Lufkin, TX on October 31st, 2021. Police say the incident happened when a Mustang operated by 21-year-old Jose Edgardo Zavala Jr lost control and collided with a GMC Sierra while traveling at a high rate of speed. Zavala suffered fatal injuries in the crash. 35-year-old Jose Herrera and his three children, ages 14, 9 and 1, were all hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
