What Happened

Harris County Sheriff's Office authorities have charged a driver in connection with a collision at FM 2920 and Mueschke Rd in Harris County, TX on March 19th, 2021. Police say the incident happened around 9:11 p.m. A Chrysler 300 operated by 39-year-old Emilio Ponce Sanchez reportedly was attempting a left turn into a private drive when it is said to have failed to yield. It then collided with a GMC Sierra operated by Kristopher Edwards. After the vehicles collided, Edwards reportedly fled the scene. Front seat passenger in the Chrysler, 19-year-old Jose Lara, died at the scene. Sanchez suffered serious injuries. Edwards was later charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
