What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a collision that killed a driver at State Hwy 6 in Brazoria County, TX on December 5th, 2021. They say it happened around 6:02 p.m. A Chevrolet Silverado towing a trailer was headed southeast bound on TX 6 in an outside lane while a tractor-trailer was stopped in a center turn lane waiting for traffic to clear. Investigators say the tractor-trailer began backing into the entrance of a private lot, entering into the path of the Silverado. The two vehicles collided before a fire broke out, trapping the driver of the Silverado. The driver was identifed as 62-year-old Jose Manuel Luevano, who suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The other driver, a 53-year-old Hamilton, OH man, was not injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
