What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating an incident that killed four people at US 57 near Eagle Pass, TX on May 28th, 2024. Police say the incident happened around 8 p.m. According to investigators, an eastboun FedEx box truck is salvaged to have veered into oncoming traffic before colliding head-on with a Hyundai. Authorities say four occupants of the Hyundai, identified as 71-year-old Jose Martinez, 61-year-old Noemi Jimenez Martinez, 34-year-old Joanna Martinez,  and 25-year-old Samantha Martinez, were fatally injured. Authorities say a 10-year-old in the vehicle also suffered fatal injuries. The FedEx truck operator was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. Additional information was not available.
