Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a driver at FM 2728 in Kaufman County, TX on May 29th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 11:07 p.m. According to investigators, a Ford Fusion operated by 23-year-old Jose Mendez Garcia was headed southbound on FM 2728 when it entered into a curve in the road. It then lost control and went into a skid before veering into a barrow ditch before going airborne and hitting a concrete culvert and barbed wire fence. The vehicle came to a stop after crashing into a tree, leaving Garcia with serious injuries. Officers allege suspicion that alcohol played a factor in the crash.
