What Happened

Authorities are investigating a crash that injured several people at MoPac Expressway in Austin, TX on July 26th, 2024. Authorities say the incident happened around 12:36 a.m. According to investigators, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class is alleged to have collided with the rear of a Toyota Camry under unclear circumstances. Authorities say the impact caused the Mercedes-Benz to veer from the road into a barrier before coming to rest at an exit ramp. The Toyota is said to have traveled over a curb before traveling down a ramp and coming to rest in an embankment. Authorities say three people, including 35-year-old Toyota operator, Jose Rodriguez, had non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the other driver, a 19-year-old Round Rock man, was seriously injured. Additional information was not immediately available.
