What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a collision that killed a driver at County Rd 130 in Midland County, TX on March 4th, 2022. They say the incident happened around 11:55 p.m. Their investigation revealed a Mercedes-Benz operated by 23-year-old Jose Ruben Baeza was headed westbound when it veered towards the south side of the road. The vehicle first struck a metal fence before going west across a private driveway and into a large tree. Baeza suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Officers allege that Baeza had been seen drinking prior to the crash and suspect alcohol may have played a factor in the crash.
