What Happened

Houston Police are investigating a collision that killed a pedestrian at North Shepherd Dr in Houston, TX on April 2nd, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 12:35 a.m. Authorities allege 63-year-0ld Joseph Ferran was crossing the street when he was struck by a northbound Hyundai Elantra. The driver, 53-year-old Michele Livesay, is alleged to have left the scene following the collision. Ferran later died from injuries from the crash on April 9th. Police say Lievesy was charged with failure to stop and render aid. Officers have alleged alcohol may have been involved in the incident and recommended and/or issued a driving while intoxicated charge as well.
