What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that injured a person at State Hwy 73 in Jefferson County, TX on March 4th, 2022. Police say the incident happened around 2:47 p.m. Investigators say a commercial truck operated by a 59-year-old Orange man was headed eastbound on Hwy 73 as a Mitsubishi Mirage was headed eastbound in an outside lane. The commercial truck is said to have performed an unsafe lane change and collided with the Mirage, causing minor injuries to the driver, identified as 68-year-old Joseph Sollowin. The Orange driver was not injured and charged with Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
