Texas Department of Public Safety officials are investigating a crash that killed a driver at County Rd 229 in Smith County, TX on June 7th, 2023. Police say the incident happened around 2:22 a.m. According to investigators, a Nissan Altima operated by 28-year-old Joshua Woodral was headed southbound on County Rd 229, approaching a curve in the roadway. Police believe the vehicle lost control at the curve, causing it to veer from the road and overturn into a nearby ditch. The crash left Woodreal with fatal injuries at the scene. A 33-year-old passenger, identified Michael Beebe, was hospitalized with injuries said to be non-life-threatening in nature. Additional information was not available.
