What Happened

Texas Department of Public Safety officials have identified the people killed in a crash at State Hwy 35 in Brazoria County, TX on August 11th, 2021. The crash is said the have happened around 3:32 p.m. A Honda Pilot operated by 78-year-old Joyce Hagan Rucker was traveling westbound on 35 as it approached a stop sign intersection. The Honda is said to have failed to yield and pulled out in front of an oncoming eastbound semi-truck as it attempted to make a left turn. Both Rucker and his passenger, 78-year-old Dwayne Lyle Rucker, were both killed when the vehicles collided. The truck driver, 34-year-old Matthew Jermaine Codner, was not injured.
