What Happened

Area authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man at State Hwy 183 in Irving, TX Police say the incident happened around 4:08 a.m. According to investigators, a Dodge Ram operated by 20-year-old Juan Lara Martinez was allegedly disabled in a lane of travel after colliding with a concrete barrier wall for unknown reasons. Officials say Martinez exited the vehicle and was standing at the front of it as a second Dodge Ram approached. Officials say the second Dodge made contact with debris in the roadway before colliding with the disabled Dodge. The disabled Dodge is said to have been pushed into Martinez, pinning him under the vehicle. Police say Martinez suffered fatal injuries in the incident. Both occupants of the second Dodge had non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Additional information was not immediately available.
